The ULDALL iron foundry in Vejen is being honored for its work in creating an inclusive workplace that accommodates diverse people, backgrounds, and pathways into the labor market with the award of the 2026 Diversity Award from Vejen Municipality.
This is a major recognition of the culture and sense of community that the employees help create every day at the foundry. That is how Dion Brun, Sales Director at ULDALL, describes receiving the 2026 Diversity Award from Vejen Municipality.
- We are truly proud to receive the Diversity Award. At ULDALL, we work daily with molten iron, high temperatures, and physically demanding tasks, so it’s nice to also be recognized for the softer values. For us, diversity is about treating people with trust, patience, and respect—and about making room for and understanding that we are not all cut from the same cloth, he says.
For several years, ULDALL has worked purposefully to create a workplace that embraces diversity. The company has employees from 13 different nationalities, more women in production than before, and a close partnership with Jobcenter Vejen to give people on the margins of the labor market a new chance.
At the same time, ULDALL regularly opens its doors to school classes and organizations to generate interest in the company, the industry, and the opportunities in the foundry trade.
- This award really belongs to the employees. They are the ones who make it all work day in and day out. And they are the ones who foster a work environment where we believe people develop best when they are met with trust, patience—and sometimes a little extra support. A good casting depends on the right mix. So does a workplace. Our strength lies in flexibility and diversity, and in the fact that we have people with different backgrounds, experiences, and stories, says Dion Brun.
The Diversity Award is presented by the Committee for the Labor Market and Integration to both a private local business and a public workplace in Vejen Municipality that makes a special effort to promote diversity in the workplace, demonstrate social commitment, or create growth and jobs in the municipality.
