CO2 emissions and energy consumption

At ULDALL, we want to reduce our climate impact, and the area where we really can make an active effort is on our energy consumption. This primarily concerns the electricity we use for melting, holding, casting, and machining of cast iron.

We have mapped our CO2 emissions and based on this, we have set ambitious and realistic reduction targets, which are part of the overall sustainability strategy for BIRN Group, of which ULDALL is a part.

FILTER SYSTEMS REDUCES ENERGY CONSUMPTION

We have reduced our energy consumption by installing a new ventilation system in the shake-out and degassing area. At ULDALL, we also reuse heat from the shake-out process, which is a mechanical process that ensures sand from molds can be recycled. The heat from this process is transferred to the ventilation system during degassing.
